Congratulations to Noriko Inoue from Tokyo, Japan who landed a hole-in-one on #15! After exiting the course, Noriko was presented with $500 cash from Tournament Co-Chair, Susan Harris.

Hole-in-one Contests

Beginning on Saturday, the first player to make a hole-in-one on #15 will be awarded a brand new car. If the car is not awarded during the Saturday round, the hole-in-one contest will continue through the end of play on Sunday. In addition, $500 cash will be awarded to any player who makes a hole-in-one on all other Par-3’s (#3, #7 & #12).

Eagles for Charity

As in past years, the tournament committee will award $100 to any player who eagles at any time during the tournament.  In addition to awarding $100 to the player, the tournament committee will also donate $100 to a local charity. The organization that has been selected as this year’s recipient of the “Eagles for Charity” proceeds is the OSF St. Francis Rehabilitation & Wellness Center.


Lopez shot an impressive 4-under par 68 putting her in the lead at the end of the first round. Lopez finishes only one stroke in front of Shannon Fish, Katie Kempter, Sadena Parks & Molly Aronsson who ended the day in a four-way tie for 2nd.

Second Round

Second round play of the 2014 Island Resort Championship will begin at 7:30 AM Eastern Time on Saturday (June 27th) morning. Players will tee off in groups of three (every 10 minutes) off of the first and tenth tee boxes. Second round pairings will be available at the information tent located just inside of the spectator entrance.
