Confused about Island Time?

The Island Resort is on Eastern Standard Time

The Island is a fun place with plenty to do, plenty to eat and plenty to play! Did you know that the Island sits on the border of both Eastern and Central time zones? Smart devices may switch over but alas, analog devices do not. We don’t want to confuse our guests so here is the scoop on which time zone the Island resides:

ISLAND TIME IS EASTERN STANDARD TIME.

We always want to emphasize this because we do not want our guests to miss an event or a promotion or miss restaurant operating hours! Here is how to understand the time zone change and what you can do to stay on the right track.

For those with SMART DEVICES (phones, watches, tablets, etc) that are set to automatically change in different time zones:

If you are heading to the Island from an EASTERN ZONE, your smart devices WILL jump back one hour and once you get to the Island, your smart device time will be incorrect. You then  should operate on EASTERN TIME ZONE by adding ONE hour.

If you are heading to the Island from CENTRAL ZONE, your smart devices will NOT change and once you get to the Island, your smart device time will be incorrect. You then should operate on EASTERN TIME ZONE by adding ONE hour.

*Some devices are set NOT to change in time zones. If your device DOES have this setting activated, it will ONLY work for those coming from an EASTERN ZONE.

For those with ANALOG/MANUAL DEVICES (clocks, watches, non-automatic devices):

If you are coming to the Island from an EST zone, you DO NOT need to switch the time. This time is correct.

If you are coming to the Island from a CST zone, you DO need to add ONE HOUR to the current time on your device upon your arrival.

PLEASE NOTE: Your smart devices MAY flip-flop time zones while you are at the Island depending on where you are. If you get confused about what the time is, ask an employee!

Bottom line is that the Island operates and functions on EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE. Please plan ahead for all your trips to the Island (especially for concert nights!).
