American Rockers Warrant Headed to The Island in November

Warrant at the Island Resort & Casino

Upper Michigan Welcomes the Down Boys

Feather your hair and re-string your air guitar, ’cause it’s time to rock! The Island Showroom is proud to host American hard rockers Warrant for two nights this November 8th and 9th. You scream, I scream, we all scream for Warrant with shows guaranteed to put a smile on your face ten miles wide.

Get Ready for a Night of Heaven

Warrant conquered the Sunset Strip in the mid-eighties, following in the tasseled bootsteps of such luminaries as Motley Crue, Poison and Ratt. In fact, the band derived their name from Ratt’s ace guitar wizard, Warren DiMartini.

They sold out shows up and down the strip for years. But they struggled to land a record contract, even after recording a demo with Prince (hey, rock history takes lots of interesting detours).

1989 was the year Warrant finally broke through. Columbia signed the band and released their debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich

The record spawned several hits, including “Big Talk” and “Down Boys.” But it was the power ballads “Sometimes She Cries” and “Heaven” that put Warrant fully on the map. The album peaked at #10 on the charts and went platinum twice.

After a world tour supporting Motley Crue, Warrant was back in the studio for their notorious follow-up album, Cherry Pie. The suggestive album cover and accompanying video for the title track catapulted Warrant to international stardom.

The album spawned several other hits, including “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” “I Saw Red” and “Blind Faith.” The band became full-time headliners, touring worldwide and leaving a wake of empty beer bottles and ruptured eardrums in their path.

Still Rockin’

The band eventually settled into a more stable and healthy tour routine. But the demands of stardom proved to be too much for singer/frontman Jani Lane, who died tragically at 47.

Today, original members Jerry Dixon, Joey Allen, Erik Turner and Steven Sweet carry on with singer Robert Mason. Robert had Jani’s blessing to take the mic before he passed. You can still expect plenty of antics along with your favorite tracks from a band that continues to have fun night after night.
