With roots in the red-dirt country scene of his native Oklahoma, Corey Kent has created a signature sound. He blends rock and soul with classic country, all while wearing his symbolic black bandana.
And fans are eating it up. He’s tallied more than 1 billion streams, hit number one on the charts and is poised to become one of country’s next breakout stars.
Treat yourself to an early Christmas gift by seeing Corey Kent, one of country music’s fastest-rising hitmakers! Join us at the Island Showroom this December 19th and 20th for a show that will make you feel alive.
Highways and Blacktops
In 2005, an 11-year-old Corey joined a touring Western Swing group. Not just as a kid tagging along, either. He was the group’s lead singer! They toured the country for five years, even opening for legends like Roy Clark and The Oak Ridge Boys.
When that band dissolved, Corey, still in high school, wasn’t counting on a music career.
But then he went to a Willie Nelson concert.
The legend pulled Corey out of the crowd to join him on stage, and that experience proved life-changing. It inspired Corey to write songs and try to break into the music scene.
At age 17, already graduated, Corey took the leap and moved to Nashville on his own.
Some Damn Good Country Songs
2022 was “the year” for Corey. He was opening for big country stars like Parker McCollum, Eli Young Band and Cody Johnson. Then, his single “Wild as Her” took off like a bronco, hitting #1 on Apple Music’s Country Chart. The massive hit off his powerful album, Blacktop, has amassed over 1 billion streams across all platforms.
This year, Corey notched his first Billboard #1 country radio song with the smash hit “This Heart.” Released in 2024, “This Heart” worked its way up to the top spot on Billboard’s US Country Airplay chart by summer 2025. It also shot all the way to number 11 in Canada.
