Hailing from Beaumont, Texas, Mark Chesnutt began his legendary career by learning from his father Bob, a singer and fan of classic country music. They performed in honky-tonks together, and Bob brought Mark to recording sessions in Nashville. Chesnutt’s throwback country style was greatly shaped by his father’s influence.
In 1989, MCA Nashville Records signed Mark, and the rest is history. He went on to score 14 number one hits, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and five gold records.
Mark blazed trails in the country music scene with the release of his 1990 album “Too Cold at Home.” It produced five Top Ten singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including “Brother Jukebox,” which hit number one. In 1993, Mark won two awards from the Country Music Association: the Horizon Award and Vocal Event of the Year.
Known as one of country music’s most talented vocalists, Mark has stayed true to his roots. Frequently compared stylistically to George Jones, he remains committed to giving classic country music to true country lovers.
