For 30 years, Trace Adkins has been one of country music’s biggest stars. To celebrate decades of radio-favorite hits and dynamic performances, Trace brings his award-winning baritone voice to The Island Showroom this spring. Catch this legendary artist for two nights of non-stop hits on April 24th and 25th.
From Football to Dreamin’ Out Loud
At an imposing 6’6”, Trace Adkins was hoping to become a promising football prospect. Unfortunately, in 1994, a knee injury sidelined him permanently.
Not one to dwell on things for long, Adkins fell back on his musical upbringing and released his debut album, Dreamin’ Out Loud, in 1996. The first single, “There’s A Girl In Texas,” was the first of over 40 country radio hits that would make him one of the most recognized singers in country music.
The album’s subsequent singles, “Every Light In The House,” “I Left Something Turned On At Home” and “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” set the stage for what was to come.
Since that phenomenal debut, Adkins has released 12 more studio albums and six compilations. He’s won numerous awards, including the ACM’s Top New Male Vocalist and CMA’s Musical Event of the Year (for his “Hillbilly Bone” duet with Blake Shelton).
Adkins has also acted in dozens of feature films, such as The Lincoln Lawyer and Mom’s Night Out and TV shows including King of the Hill. He also appeared as himself on The All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, which he won in 2013.
As part of his work, Adkins is also a passionate philanthropist who supports a variety of humanitarian and military causes. He’s helped raise millions of dollars for organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Animal Rescue Foundation and Project Clean Water.
