It’s hard to believe Nevermind was released over 30 years ago and changed MTV, album rock and music forever. Nirvana was one of many 90s bands that ushered in one of rock history’s most creative and prolific periods.
Along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, Nirvana broke down conventions and created a sound unlike anything before. They captured the excitement and anxiety of the early 90s. The music marks the era defined by the end of the Cold War, Princess Diana’s death and the internet’s advent.
Now, the alt-rock scene comes to life again, thanks to The Lithium Experience. You’ll feel like you’re seeing the 1980s disappear in the rearview mirror of your uncle’s white Fiero all over again. Watch these musicians tear through the songs from when bands chose ripped jeans over spandex pants and earnest lyrics over power ballads.
The Classic Album Live Experience
For over 20 years, Classic Albums Live (CAL) has produced authentic and passionate tributes to some of music’s most iconic records. They recruit professional players who lovingly recreate each track, note for note.
The focus is always on the music, not costumes or bad impersonations, so you’ll hear songs how you remember them. CAL promises to always honor the source material above aesthetics or gimmicks.
The Lithium Experience is the first CAL production to celebrate the work of multiple artists instead of a single band or album. You’ll still get CAL’s commitment to quality in this production, but the music is a cross-section of your favorite bands from the alternative rock decade.
