Horsin' Around at the Island

The countdown to the third and final leg of horse racing’s “Triple Crown” is officially on! The Belmont Stakes will be held on Saturday, June 7^th at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. This year’s event marks the 146^th running of the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes and promises to be one the most exciting as the now infamous California Chrome makes his bid for the “Triple Crown”.  Should he succeed, California Chrome would be the first horse since 1978 to capture the crown.
With the race just over two weeks away it’s fairly safe to say that if you don’t have your tickets already then you are probably out of luck! No tickets…no worries as the Island Resort & Casino will be broadcasting all of the action from Belmont in the Island Sports Bar. With eleven TV’s and three big screens, the Island Sports Bar will get you up close to all of the action minus the three hundred dollar ticket fee! In addition to the broadcasting the race, we will also be featuring the following specials:

• The Belmont Jewel
  Woodford Reserve Bourbon mixed with lemonade and pomegranate juice for $6.00

• NY Strip Sliders
  3 sliced NY Strip sliders served with horseradish sauce & chips for $6.00

If the NY Strip Sliders aren’t enough to curb your appetite, then swing over to the 5 Bridges Steak & Seafood House and celebrate the Belmont Stakes with one of our Certified Angus Beef Steaks or try building your own Kentucky Hot Brown Burger in the 5 Bridges Pub!
