Ronnie Milsap
February 27th & 28th
Those formative teenage years set a tone for an entire lifetime. Personal battles, career goals, ideas about love – figuring out how all of that will play out during adulthood is one of the big chores of those high-school years. Setting the backdrop for much of that inner struggle is the music – it’s the soundtrack of one’s identity, the bond that glues generations.
That idea is at the heart of Ronnie Milsap’s Summer #17, an album that explores the influences on a musician who built a Hall of Fame-caliber career, who became one of the most influential voices in country music’s storied history.
Cole Swindell
March 13th & 14th
Now and then, a song and artist can’t be denied. Earlier this year, Cole Swindell was nothing more or less than a terrific songwriter with a Nashville publishing deal and a growing reputation as one of the city’s most exciting young performers. Now, he’s on the road to stardom.
The gateway is “Chillin’ It,” a song as infectious and groove-laden as anything out there, with a laid-back summertime charm that perfectly captures the guy who wrote and performs it. Independent radio airplay and social media quickly turned it into a sensation. With sales continuing to rise, “Chillin’ It” is trending to be his first Gold certified single. A sold-out performance at a 600-seat club in Atlanta did the rest. It was attended by Nashville label reps wanting to see if the guy from tiny Bronwood, Georgia, could put on stage what he had put on CD. The offers that poured in from virtually every major label meant the answer was an absolute “yes.” In fact, Cole’s high-energy show wins converts every time he steps in front of a crowd, whether as a headliner in a club or as an opening act in front of 20,000 people.
Creedence Clearwater Revisited
April 10th & 11th
Creedence Clearwater Revival founding members and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford have been on quite a ride. 45 years ago, Creedence Clearwater Revival headlined the Saturday night slot at the legendary Woodstock Music Festival. Also that year, 3 Creedence Clearwater Revival albums simultaneously perched in the top 10 of the rock music charts and the group had 4 top 3 singles. The accolades keep coming. Earlier in 2014, The Recording Academy® recognized Stu and Cosmo’s work in Creedence Clearwater Revival by inducting the album Cosmo’s Factory recordings into the GRAMMY® Hall Of Fame and Creedence Clearwater Revival ’s 1969 recording “Fortunate Son” was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
Following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cosmo and Stu launched their Creedence Clearwater Revisited project in 1995, to once again perform live in concert the hit songs—touchstones of a generation. Since then, the legendary rhythm section has been thrilled by the outpouring of affection for their new band. World tours and the platinum certified album Recollection followed. The astounding response to the band has been driven in part by new generations of fans that, as Cosmo says, “weren’t even born when the music came out.”
