2025 marks the 50th anniversary of rock radio legends Little River Band. To celebrate, the band is playing two nights in The Island Showroom on April 4th and 5th. This is your chance to go dancing in the dark, walking through the park and reminiscing to all your favorite songs.
Ready For a Cool Change?
Formed in 1975 in Melbourne, Australia, Little River Band has enjoyed one of the most successful careers in rock music history. With over 35 million albums and downloads sold, they’ve enjoyed success on the stage and radio airwaves alike.
They’ve racked up three gold and three platinum records and shared the stage with bands like The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Thin Lizzy and Supertramp. With 18 studio albums, Little River Band was the first band to release top 10 hits in six consecutive years.
In 1978, “Help Is on Its Way” was the band’s first #1 hit. It launched them into stardom and brought them across the Pacific to the United States, where they quickly became a sensation. “Reminiscing” went to #10 the same year and was cited by John Lennon as one of his favorite songs. It was also recognized by BMI as one of the most frequently played songs in radio history.
Beloved favorite “Cool Change” went to #8 in 1979 and was chosen as one of the top 30 Australian songs of all time. Other hits, like “Lonesome Loser,” “Lady,” “Night Owls” and “The Other Guy,” made sure that Little River Band remains a household name to this day.

Late Eagles member Glenn Fry said Little River Band was “the best singing band in the world.” Those melodies and harmonies will be on full display in The Island Showroom. Nelson is joined by an all-star ensemble, including Chris Marion on keyboards, Ryan Ricks on drums and vocals, and Colin Whinnery on lead guitar and vocals.
