Get ready to feel the electricity.
Legendary rock band TESLA is bringing more than four decades of blues-driven, soulful rock to the Island Showroom for two unforgettable nights on Friday, February 26th, and Saturday, February 27th, 2027.
From hard-rock favorites and power ballads to the stripped-down performances that helped define the acoustic rock era, TESLA has built a catalog made for singing along. Tickets are $70 and are on sale now. Order online through Island Resort & Casino or call 877-ISL-SHOW to purchase by phone with a credit card.
Built on Mechanical Resonance
TESLA formed in Sacramento during the mid-1980s, but the band’s sound was never about following the biggest trend of the moment. Drawing inspiration from 1970s rock acts including The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aerosmith, TESLA developed a sound grounded in muscular guitars, honest vocals and bluesy rock-and-roll soul.
That identity came through clearly on the band’s 1986 platinum debut, Mechanical Resonance. Songs such as “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi” introduced listeners to a group that could deliver arena-sized energy without losing its raw, roots-driven character.
A Great Radio Controversy Worth Hearing Live
TESLA followed its debut with 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy, featuring “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and the enduring fan favorite “Love Song.” The album expanded the band’s audience and helped move TESLA from coveted opening slots with artists such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth into headlining territory.
The momentum continued with the platinum-selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. Each release reinforced what fans already knew: TESLA could write powerful songs, play with grit and deliver the kind of performance that felt just as natural in a packed arena as it did in a more intimate setting.
Five Musicians, One Acoustical Jam
TESLA also helped bring unplugged rock into the mainstream with Five Man Acoustical Jam. The live album showed another side of the band, trading full-volume amplification for acoustic arrangements while keeping the same energy and personality.
That ability to move between heavy riffs, bluesy grooves, melodic ballads and acoustic rock has helped TESLA’s music remain recognizable across generations. Longtime fans know every turn of the catalog, while newer listeners continue to discover why these songs have lasted.
Still Ready to Rock
Decades after its first album, TESLA continues to record, tour and bring its signature sound to audiences around the world. The band’s catalog now includes nine albums released since 2000 as well as newer music such as “Time to Rock!”
Changing musical tastes have come and gone, but TESLA has stayed rooted in the sound that made the band stand out from the beginning. That commitment – combined with an enthusiastic worldwide fan base – has kept the group where it belongs: onstage, turned up and ready to play.
