In 2024, blues rockers George Thorogood and the Destroyers celebrated 50 years of loud music and partying. On March 7th and 8th, the Delaware bad boys of boogie will play all your favorite hits on The Island Showroom stage. Join them on back-to-back nights as part of their “Baddest Show on Earth” Tour.
Who Do You Love?
Since they formed in 1973, George Thorogood and the Destroyers have brought their unique blend of rock, pop and blues to 8,000 audiences around the world. What began as a Newark bar band started by high school friends has turned into a half-century-long musical party.
“Lonesome George” is joined by original bandmate Jeff Simon on drums and bassist since 1976 Billy Bloug. Guitarist of 25 years Jim Suhler and long-time saxophonist Buddy Leach round out the group. Together, they can’t wait to show 2025 audiences what a well-oiled rock machine can do after 50 years of playing the music they love.
Says George of the occasion: “All I ever wanted was to be a rock-and-roll entertainer, and I’m lucky enough to say that’s all I’ve ever done. The plan now is to take my gratitude for the past 50 years and put it on stage every night.”
To celebrate, the band promises a “hit-driven, all-systems-go, bad-to-the-bone high-wire act with no equal.” So, get your tickets and buckle up for the biggest rock party of the year!
