The Island is home to the area’s greatest entertainment and better yet, most of it is FREE! What’s happening at the Island in October… let’s find out!

October 1: Comedian Cliff Cash
Club Four One 7:00 PM
Cliff Cash is a nationally touring comedian and a NC native. He comes from the conservative south and adds a new twist to stand-up that you won’t soon forget. Finding absurdities in everyday culture, media, politics and dogma; Cash draws comparisons that others miss. Whether it’s through one  of his characters or voices, an angry rant or a satirical rap song, Cliff will make you question what you accept as normal. Cliff works in comedy clubs across the country. He has won Port City’s Top Comic 2013, Comedy Zone’s Almost Famous competition 2013 and was chosen as one of 30 semifinalists nationwide in Comedy Central’s UpNext competition.

October 5-7: Sweet Trouble

Sweet Trouble is a high energy, show band comprised of very talented musicians and vocalists. This popular band has been playing casinos, clubs, conventions, shows, dances, private functions, parties, fairs, and everything in between for over a decade.   Sweet Trouble is on the road year-round with only short stops at their home base in Missouri. The Sweet Trouble Band primarily plays casinos and festivals around the Midwest and surrounding states stretching from the North Woods to the Gulf of Mexico. – We’re fun, and we’re ready to Rock!

October 8: Comedian Larry Reeb
Club Four One 7:00 PM
Known as Uncle Lar’ Larry Reeb is the wise-cracking black sheep, politically incorrect relative everyone knows. Like any concerned relative Uncle Lar’ wants to help. So, in his own twisted way he does. He gives you “tips”. Uncle Lar’ offers tips on everything from marriage to lotteries to children. Always topping them off with, “That’s a tip from your Uncle Lar’.” Reeb is a strong, distinct, classic character, with sarcastic attitude and a sardonic wit. He conveys his concepts with rapid fire one liners. “It’s a sick world and I’m a happy guy”, Reeb proudly announces after stating his particularly twisted observations. Reeb didn’t invent obscene phone calls or adultery, but he makes his living talking about them. In a perfect world Uncle Lar’ would be unemployed.

October 12-14: Melody Best Band
Club Four One 8:30 PM – 1:15 AM
Melody Best is a beautiful professional singer that has been entertaining throughout her life. She will charm you with her personality, but she will move you with her magnificent voice. Her talents include: playing guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, violin, etc… and dancing. Melody has many accomplishments in her young career, recording 2 albums in two countries, awarded the Gold Medal at the Hawaii Popular Music Festival (Hawaii Star) resulting in mention in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

October 15: Comedian Dan Whitehurst
Club Four One 7:00 PM
Dan is a Nationally Known Touring Veteran Comedian who has Headlined some of the Greatest Comedy Clubs in America & worked with some of comedy’s greats! Dan has appeared regularly on ABC’s hit television series “Nashville” and on the Nationally Syndicated radio show “Bob & Tom in the Morning”! He recently starred in a new Comedy-Horror movie “Black Holler” as well as other film work including music videos and commercials. A retired Multi-Decorated Police Officer, Dan won the Title of “World’s Funniest Cop”!

October 19-21: Eddie & the Edsels
Club Four One 8:30 PM – 1:15 AM
With 2 Las Vegas style shows and a huge repertoire of songs, they have been involved in the promotion of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and have performed shows for the Palace and State Theatres.  Shows also have included, the Rock n Roll Rendezvous at Playhouse Square, Legends of the Rock-n-Roll Show at the Cleveland Convention Center, and co-headlining with Sonny Geraci at the Avalon Event Center. Eddie & the Edsels have also been featured at various casinos, resorts and fundraisers.

October 22: Comedian Bob Jay
Club Four One 7:00 PM
This Chicago-based comedian is a master at voices and impressions, a skilled comedian and an all around crowd pleaser who can relate to any audience.  Be ready to be impressed!

October 27-28: Driver
Club Four One 8:30 PM – 1:15 AM
DRIVER is a working powerhouse Rock trio band. Based out of Northern Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as professional performing musicians through the 80’s, 90’s to present, they strive to deliver a great show each and every night. DRIVER marks their fourth year in November 2008 performing non-stop, entertaining the greater northern Michigan area and providing their listening audience with quality live entertainment and popular rock hit selections. Respectively achieving a stellar position as one of Michigan’s finest performing live Rock bands.

October 29: Comedian Leif Skyving
Club Four One 7:00 PM
Born in Sweden and raised in Los Angeles, Leif began his comedy career 20 years ago at the world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood. Since then, he’s shared the stage with such great acts at Weird Al Yankovic, Howie Mandel, Paul Rodriguez, Steve Allen, and Jimmy “JJ” Walker …among many others. Leif has appeared on The Comedy Network’s “Comedy at Club 54” and “Comedy Kitchen,” “Last Comic Standing,” and on ABC’s “Three’s Company” and “General Hospital.” He can also be heard regularly on XM Radio.  Leif’s crowd pleasing interactive style, shared life experience, mastery of characters, and musical comedy is a complete entertainment package!

October 31: Next Myle
Club Four One 8:30 PM – 1:15 AM
Next Myle was formed in 2003. Original Members of Next Myle include Paul Quello, Bill Bice, Kristan Nordine, Kevin Fraker, and Darwyn Aberly. Looking back over the years they have made a lot of new friends, played a lot of venues, played a lot of music and had a ton of fun. From Hunting Season weekend at the Hitch n Post, to Hodag or Porterfield, or over to dance in the sand at the Thirsty Whale, they have enjoyed every minute of it. They are looking forward to the opportunity to continue on that same path and see what’s ahead.
