Summer at The Island kicks off with a double shot of classic rock. Because one is the loneliest number, Three Dog Night will be playing two nights in May in The Island Showroom. Get your tickets now to see one of the most revered bands in music history play live on the Island stage.
An Old-Fashioned Love Song That Still Sounds Great
Since forming in 1968, Three Dog Night has released some of the most iconic songs of the past half-century.
From 1969 to 1975, they had an unprecedented 21 consecutive top 40 Billboard hits—a record that no other band has been able to break. They had three #1 songs, including “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” “Joy to the World” and “Liar.” Their catalog includes 12 certified gold records and seven platinum singles.
While Three Dog Night is most closely associated with classic rock, their sound transcends genres and defies categorization. Their crossover appeal has garnered them fans of pop, country, R&B and even ska.
No matter what influences their music has drawn upon, Three Dog Night has always delivered thoughtful, uplifting songs with contagious melodies. They’re easy to sing along to and have maintained popularity over the decades.
The name “Three Dog Night” refers to the cold temperatures Australian hunters endured by huddling close to their dingos. But The Island Resort and Casino is sure to be hot on the evenings of May 9th and 10th.
The Show Must Go On
Original founding member Danny Hutton has guided Three Dog Night through changing musical eras and numerous lineup changes. The band maintains an aggressive tour schedule with 90-plus dates per year and still delights in performing the band’s many hits for multi-generational audiences across the country.
The songs of Three Dog Night are woven into our cultural fabric. Their legacy plays on around us, from radio to TV commercials to motion pictures. Still, there’s no substitute for hearing the songs live in concert from the band who knows them best.
