Catch one of country music’s most distinct voices and fastest-rising stars! Priscilla Block brings the party to the Island Showroom in Harris, Michigan, this fall. November 7th and 8th, see the voice of the new generation, singing the songs that have made her a sensation.
From Social Media Darling and Nashville Superstar
Up-and-comer Priscilla Block knew she wanted to be a star from an early age. As a child, she learned how to play guitar and began performing at the Deep South Bar near her home in Raleigh, North Carolina.
After graduating high school, she packed her bags and moved to Nashville. During those formative years, she took on odd jobs while studying other Nashville performers and learning the craft of songwriting.
At one point, Block became discouraged and considered moving back home. However, a chance encounter with a mega star changed her mind.
Block was walking along a Nashville road, wearing a Taylor Swift t-shirt, when Taylor Swift herself drove by. Swift stopped the car and chatted with Block for a bit. “That was truly the day that I decided that I really needed to give music a fair shot and do this thing,” Block said, and she never looked back.
She recorded her debut EP, Different Route, in a closet studio and began posting tracks on TikTok during the pandemic. It was her direct-to-social-media release, “Just About Over You,” that became the viral sensation Block needed to launch her career. The song became a number one hit on iTunes and landed her a recording contract with Mercury Nashville.
Country, Pop and Southern Rock With a Dose of Self-Love
Priscilla describes her sound as “a little sass, a little trash and a little sad.” But it’s her messages of acceptance and self-love that have resonated most with fans. Unconventional songs like “Thick Thighs” and “PMS” have empowered a generation of young music fans to look at the world differently.
2.2 million monthly Spotify listeners can’t be wrong. Priscilla Block has quickly built an audience and become an “artist to watch” according to Amazon, American Songwriter, Pandora, CMT and The Boot. Check out the songs that have built a massive audience in a short time:
