Elle King

March 29 @ 8:00 pm

Two-time solo artist Grammy Award nominee Elle King has taken the internet by storm, with millions of followers and 1.7 billion streams worldwide. King’s song “Ex’s and Oh’s”, from King’s first album Love Stuff, released in 2015, launched her into stardom. Elle King has collaborated with numerous big-name artists proving her country music influence is strong. In 2017, “Different for Girls” with Dierks Bentley was nominated for five separate awards. In 2020, “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” (with Caylee Hammack, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, and Tenille Townes won Music Event of the Year from the Academy of Country Music Awards. And in 2021, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert won her a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Elle King’s music reflects her southern Ohio upbringing and is sharply influenced by what she called home. Take the opening track on her third album, Come Get Your Wife. Its banjo-plinking, and yearning vocal, suggest the pull of where – and how – she grew up. Intoning “Find me singing on a back porch swingin’/ Cur dogs barkin,’ left my dip in the kitchen/ That’s when it hit me…I’ve been gone to long,” King’s roots run deep and honest in the realm of country music.
